Joy is pursuing a dual master’s degree in Transportation Technology & Policy and Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Davis. Her experiences using public transit in different regions inspired her interest in improving transit systems in practical, efficient, and cost-effective ways within operational constraints. She is currently working on a research project examining China’s high-speed rail system, focusing on how service strategies are designed to meet travel demand and support high ridership. She is also interested in Complete Streets and roadway safety design.
Prior to graduate school, Joy worked at a public power grid company, where she gained experience in data analysis, project coordination, and public service.
