Favorite Transit Systems: Unitrans
I am a 2nd year Master's student in Transportation Technology and Policy.
Previously, I studied History andEconomics at UC Davis. I chose to attend the Institute of Transportation Studies to expand on my then-casual interest in transit and urban planning. Being able to remain in Davis, with its amazing bike and bus network, was a nice bonus as well.
I am currently exploring the capabilities of travel demand models in implementing transportation policies like SB 375 and SB 743. These policies aim to make reduction of VMT, GHG emissions, and sustainable land use a central requirement of regional planning. Yet this depends on regional governments' modeling capabilities, and how their models account for induced travel, mode choice, and travel pricing.
