Prof. Beth Ferguson is a designer whose practice blends industrial design with sustainable transportation, solar engineering, climate resiliency, and public engagement. She is an Associate Professor of Design at the University of California Davis and the director of the Adapting City Lab (adaptingcity.org). Ferguson’s solar micromobility charging work was awarded the Austin Green Award in 2017 for the Austin Energy Electric Drive Solar Kiosk and is now part of the MacArthur BART Mobility Hub project supported by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. She has worked on many National Center for Sustainable Transportation and UC ITS Senate Bill One research publications with the UC Davis Center for Transportation Studies. Her interdisciplinary work has been exhibited at the Exploratorium Museum, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, TEDx Presidio and she is a resident at the San Francisco Autodesk Technology Center.
